Clutter used to be a dirty word but that seems to be changing. With all the reality shows about cleaning up your home, you'd think clutter would be the last trend happening in the home space. But, trendsetting home decorators are proving otherwise. In fact, minimalism seems to continue to be falling by the wayside. The floor-to-ceiling West Elm/Pottery Barn catalogue design look is being eschewed for more eclectic interior themes. Homes for eccentric curios, whether they be sea shells from a diving trip in the Caribbean, gnome salt and pepper shakers, or a finger painting done by a four-year-old; some are creating large scale dioramas with their finds. Women are even working their handbags, shoes, hair accessories and (less precious) jewelry into the mix, by putting such items on display. And as the trend of collecting continues to grow, we expect the home clutter trend to keep up, as well.
