It's was a year ago today we lost our good friend and fellow Wheezer Neil Sterett.
This photo is from our last year at Hilhi back in '73. You'll never be forgotten my friend! For some more Neil, check out our The Wheezer Society video gallery

And: A special Thank-You to Scott Leverenz for staying up all night last year to create a striking slide show of Neil's life. Very nice touch indeed!

Yes, I'd love to hook up with you fellows sometime. I'll bring something of the bro's with me.. Found a shadow box of fun buttons and badges. Think there are some momentoes from COCO's as well.
Thanks to all the Wheezers who took the time to see us at Neil's "Celebration", it meant a great deal to us!

Egad, the anniversaries of Neil's demise and my failed marriage nuptials in the same week! No wonder they call it Black September...usually you say, 'What? A year? It seems so short!' But it's different with Mr Sterett. Neil was such a condensed force of hilarity and mayhem in all the lives he touched, that it actually seems longer than a year since we had him with us, much, much longer. Phil, thank you for those kind words, Tom is right, we need a gathering with you included! I know up til now none of us had the heart for it. I'm up for one...jay amicarella

Hi Wheezers! Thank you for noting my brother Neil’s passing just one year ago.
Neil was a wheezer in the truest sense.. Growing up he left me wheezing in oxygen debt! His spontaneous story telling and absurd sense of humor could leave me crippled.
His imagination ran deep. Using his cartooning skills he created some of the weirdest characters known to man. More than once one of his nasty “Satin” sketches (no pants!) would be slipped into the hymn books lining the pews at weddings etc.
Once he was refused service from a Beaverton restaurant for sliding a dirty sketch into their acrylic dessert menu! This kind of daring behavior left us HOWLING!
Oh my, what could have been…I enjoyed his collaborations with the Wheezers in film making, screen play writing, acting, music, Web design…and of course .. cartooning!
He loved all of the members of the Wheezer Society .. you were fine foils and partners in crime for my brother.
Best Regards,
Phil Sterett
