Since David Carradine's death rumors have started about his state of mind and financial health, leading to speculation his death was not a suicide.
Evidentially, Carradine was set to co-star in the feature film "Portland" shooting in Los Angeles and Portland, Oregon this summer. "An actor of David Carradine’s stature behind our film meant the world to us," the film's executive producers Adrian Salpeter and Elizabeth Levine of Random Bench Productions told Tarts in a statement. "Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this difficult time".
The film's writer/director Matthew Mishory adds, "Every filmmaker aspires to work with an iconic actor like David Carradine. He was one of a kind." The indie film has had to push back its production schedule in Vancouver, Portland and Laguna Beach, Calif.
Carradine was set to play the role of a priest in the film about a trio of damaged souls who come together following the death of a young wanderer.The film also stars Erin Daniels, Jonathan Caouette, Steven Martini, Renee Victor and Alex Schemmer. The movie will go ahead in Carradine's memory. Recasting for his role is already underway.
