St John's Circa 1952

A couple of weeks ago, PDX Retro ran a post about the Signal Gas Station on the corner of Charleston & Lombard in St John's. It's now a pizza joint. My grandparent's home for 34 years was just South of the gas station, on the corner of Charleston & Ivanhoe. My grandmother ran her beauty shop in the basement from 1932 until they moved to Hillsboro in 1966. When I saw this article, it reminded me of this snapshot showing the Signal Gas Station in the background, and my mother (standing) with my grandmother (inside the car) showing off my Dad's new 1952 Plymouth Hudson.
