Arnold Stang, the voice of Top Cat, passed away a few days ago at the age of 91. Stang was also a movie actor, acting in films starting in the 40's, then moving onto stage and television. He has a very memorial scene in one of my favorite movies, It's A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World. The scene is with Jonathan Winters, where he tears down the gas station. Anyway, Stang will be remembered.
This Space Happy Coloring Book cover from 1953 is amazing. Neil would have loved it.
I can just hear Neil's ripping off a caption now, something along the lines of the space woman's kneeling position, the space man's pointing the upright rocket ship....
The question that every man fears...."Honey, does my butt look big .....(fill in your reference)?" but is rarely prepared for. My sister-in-law has been passing around "does my butt look.." cartoons found on the net this last few days. Here's one I did this morning to add to the mix.
Fellow Portland Blogger Dave 'Records' Stone (aka Dave Rogoway) has been publishing his blog called Stumptown Blogger for a while now. I have it as one of my daily RSS feeds to read, as he's always publishing something interesting about Portland on his blog.
One of Dave's favorite subjects is KISN Radio (91derful!) Dave was not only one of the youngest DJ to be on the air but he was the last DJ to serve up tunes when the Mighty 91 K-I-S-N went silent on September 4th, 1976 at 12:01 AM PDT
From time to time, Dave will link to my KISN Good Guy Survey collection - (thanks Dave!). Today he reminded us about the popular KISN Carol Tree. For a look to see what was on the survey the week of November 19th, 1969 click here.
