This is a hoot. It has Mayor Terry Shrunk and Frank Ivanice playing thermselevs. Narrated by Glenn Ford, this extraordinary CBS Television film shows how civil defence operations would help minimise casualties in a typical city - our city Portland, Oregon.
Okay... it's a little unusual, but, hey - usual just doesn't grab anyone's attention anymore. Our friend Bryce Zabel has written his share of movie scripts and television shows - so this Christmas, Bryce has "given" us a new Christmas story as a gift. You can read the lead-in and download the script (yes, you read that right) download the script from his weblog, For What It's Worth.
THIS JUST IN FROM THE LINDSTEDT BLUES NETWORK: Home Sick James passed away on Dec. 13, 2006, at the age of ninety-six. Born James A. Williamson in 1910 in Tennessee. (or "James W. Henderson") the history is rather vague. He met and played with the great Robert Johnson in the mid-thirties, and in later years, he acquired quite the talent on the slide guitar. Home Sick James was the cousin and mentor to Elmore James and together, they were pioneers in Open 'D' tuning slide guitar......the inspiration for such limp bands as, "Foghat" , "Savoy Brown" and "ZZ Top". In summary, Homesick James and Elmore James were both instrumental in creating a slide guitar style that lives today. The influence goes on to people like David Gilmore from "Pink Floyd" see (One Of These Days) from the album "Meddle" or "The Delicate Sound of Thunder".
