“No one believed me… they used to make fun of me and laugh at me. I was the joke of the neighborhood!” But seriously folks, I remember twenty years ago reading a newspaper article about 'The Kentucky Blue People' The article was about a group of people in the back hills of Kentucky who appeared to be a shade of blue. When I told to story to some friends – they thought I was setting them up for a joke. Of course I protested my innocence and since I could not produce the newspaper article, I have taken much abuse and ridicule for the saga of the “Kentucky Blue People”. Eventually the cynicism became so common that if I happen to misplace my car keys, the response would be, “Yeah, Leverenz, must be those Kentucky Blue People, huh?” You get the drift.
Well, friends and relatives, I have twenty years of abuse to make up for. Thank God for the internet! Whilst performing an innocent search for “blue man group” (the guys that perform in Las Vegas) the Kentucky Blue People showed up in the search results. HALLEJULAH! “Yes, Virginia, there are Kentucky Blue People”
