Yup! This one here's a Wheezer!
The Wheezer Society is made of of people who enjoy topics related to WHEEZING and CHOKING. In otherwords - if it's funny - they share it. Charter members of The Wheezer Society are Scott Leverenz, Steve Lindstedt, Neil Sterett, Doug Byers, Mike Murnin, Jay Amicarella, Tom O'Brien and Greg Phillips.
The Wheezer Society has it's origins in the 1970 partnership of two high school freshman, Scott Leverenz and Steve Lindstedt. Their love of cartooning formed No-Jive Comix. Fueled by the underground comics scene and greatly influenced by San Francisco cartoonist Robert Crumb - Leverenz and Lindstedt put their artwork where ever they could - on posters, t-shirts, self published comic books, school newspapers, flyers, etc.
Friends began to identify with the "take no crap", cynical, irreverent tone of No-Jive and many workings fell under it's heading. All the charter members of The Wheezer Society and many more contributed in some way to "No-Jive".
In 1985, Wheezer Productions was formed and produced the 20 minute short "Furious Furniture" and the TV Pilot, "What's On?". The group made the transformation from No-Jive to The Wheezer Society and that same influence of the early days is still prevalent today.
